My wife and I had an amazing wedding, every aspect of it was storybook. The day after the wedding we were at Ocean City with family and friends and no sooner than I came out of the water I noticed my ring had come off. Everyone’s wedding band is special but this one was my late father’s. Not only that, but my mom had made it for him. It’s a one of a kind and means a lot to my family and me, we were all devastated that it had been lost.
As soon as we left the beach and I had internet service, I did a Google search and Ring Finders of South Jersey was at the top of the list. It was late Friday evening but I noticed they were open 24 hours a day so I took a chance and called. John answered, we talked and came up with a plan to meet the next day at low tide. I wasn’t confident that John would find it but I was hopeful after talking with him and that definitely made it easier to sleep that night.
We met up on Saturday morning, reviewed events of the previous day, and identified the general area where I most likely was when I lost the ring. At that point he went to work with his equipment. He said to me before he started, “don’t get excited if you see me digging”. Within 10-15 minutes of searching he had located something in the wash area and started digging. After the 2nd scoop, he started to walk my way and asked if I could describe the ring. I was overwhelmed, he had found it.
If you have lost something, I can not recommend John enough! While he found my ring in a short time, the fact that he was prepared to go back and look several times if he hadn’t been successful told me a lot about his character and that he cares about helping people. Thank you John and God Bless!!

Hi John. It’s Teri. Thank you again for finding the ring! We are all in awe of your dedication and talent! Here is the back story to help you… My son, Patch, was digging in the sand and decided to take off his grandfather’s WWII ring. He put it in the cup holder of a beach chair for safe keeping. Unknowingly his cousin, Cameron, packed up the chair and went to the water to clean up beach toys with the chair on her back. When we realized the ring had fallen out before leaving the beach, my whole family did a mad search in the sand. We figured if it was in the water, it was lost forever. I resigned myself to the prospect that the ring was lost at sea where my father’s ashes were spread. My dad was a Merchant Marine and always had a love of the sea, so it seemed a fitting place, although it was a tough loss especially for my son. My father in law lost his wedding ring 8/12 at 11:15 am. Friend of ours found The Ring Finders and John responded instantly. Someone contacted ring finders because my daughter lost her cochlear implant which she uses to hear, which we thought she might of hid it in the backyard. he was more then willing to help, was prompt, came next day when he came to our home, he diligently looked over an hour for her Implant. My daughter lost her ring at 8pm last night while in ankle deep water after a storm. I thought for sure it was gone. The following day a friend sent me his link that she saw on Facebook. My mother-in-law passed away right after their 45th anniversary. Since than my father-in-law wore her wedding ring and cross on a necklace around his neck. She and her brother and father used their metal detector and sieve for at least another hour before we all decided that we had to let it go.

The phrase “needle in a haystack” kept running through my mind on my way to meet you. The beach is so big and the sand can bury something that small so easily, never to be seen again.

Yesterday while I was on the beach near the water, I took off my rings to put on sunscreen and placed them in the velcro pocket of my beach chair. I only placed them there thinking that I would just put them right back on again, but I forgot about them.
Eventually we moved our chairs from near the water up to the dry sand and about an hour later I suddenly remembered my rings and checked the pocket but they were missing. I immediately had a meltdown and was sobbing because I knew that they must have been lost in the sand and that they could be anywhere.
My family and I all started searching and other people joined in to help out. After searching for about an hour without any luck and with it getting later in the day we knew that we would have to leave the beach without the rings.

I lost my wedding ring in the Atlantic Ocean this afternoon at 1:45pm.
Unfortunately, Donna asked if I wanted her to hold it for me on the walk down and I said something to the effect of, “Nah. It’s not going to fall off.”
So about 2 minutes in the water and it falls off. I never felt that attached to it other than it being my wedding ring. Until I lost it and I felt terrible. Maybe some of that was the feeling that Donna somehow knew that it was going to happen. We looked for awhile but there was no way we were finding it. Every bump on the floor turned out to be a rock or shell. I paced around for a little bit and then decided just to go home. Then I wondered if there was a site I could post a photo of my ring just in case someone ever found it.
That’s when I stumbled on theringfinders.com. I sent a message on Facebook (2:45pm) and about 5 minutes later, John Favano sent me his phone number to give him a call. At 3:07pm (just checked my phone log) we briefly talked. So now, I was waiting on a guy that may or may not show up and may or may not find a wedding ring in THE Atlantic Ocean if and when he got here. Then, my phone rings, John says that he is at the beach and to come meet him. We are off to a good start all things considered.

I have to share my experience! I lost my wedding ring in the ocean 2 weeks ago in North Wildwood and was really upset about it. Went on a FB group and John was recommended to me. I texted him late that night which was a Friday and he was out looking for it the next day waist deep in the ocean for at least an hour. After returning home to Delaware from a day in Ocean City, I realized I had lost my wedding band, engagement ring, and an accent ring. I searched the internet and found an article that mentioned John. I reached out to him via text and he immediately called me. We discussed the details of the situation and concluded the conversation around 11pm. 4:15 am, I received a text message with a picture of my rings. So I’m headed down to 11th street with the key wrapped in my NEON GREEN TOWEL. I put it as I always do where I can keep an eye on it while I’m in the water. I paddle out, catch a few fun ones, then I see the tractor headed toward my towel.. thinking to myself “this guy sees my NEON GREEN BEACH TOWEL right?” After a little while he was done and I could see my towel so I decided to head back grab a coffee. I walk up to my NEON GREEN BEACH TOWEL and ##$%#?? Key is gone. Cellphone locked in the car. St Anthony St Anthony please come around… no luck, so we wind up calling Jon..
Long story made short, he shows up with his equipment and gets to work..
